We Got Legs!

Checked on the kids today. Several of the polywogs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polywog) have sprouted legs And as you can see one has started to turn frog-colored and has sprouted front legs as well!

Checking the raspberries (YUM!) and potatoes today, I walked through some puddles from recent rain on the garden tarps. I noticed something moving in one of the puddles. Wow! We have babies! And more! There must be at least 100 tadpoles. We recorded the mating songs of a couple Copes Grey Tree Frogs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_tree_frog) out here a few weeks ago. Didn't realize what we were intruding on ... Sigh. Seems we have to wait 2 months for them to turn into frogs.

Another Reptilian Visitor

Had a visit from this fellow on a damp June afternoon. He (she?) was walking around the greenhouse, and then hopped up on the foundation. Didn't seem to find anything interesting and wandered back toward the river.
